Overcome rejection by learning this one thing about time.

When you were a kid and you hit a roadblock to that milkshake, chocolate, ice cream (whatever your drug of choice was), did you give up?

I know I didn't, if one parent said no, I asked the other. If they both said no, I climbed the cupboard to reach the cooking chocolate on the top shelf.

Rejection didn't disappoint me, it taught me to climb!

I don't know about you, but I don't take rejection so well as an adult. I take it personally. It has taken me a long time to adapt. Instead of focusing on the 'no', I now focus on the 'why'.

Why is there a no? Here are some things to ask yourself:

  • Is it possible a yes is coming down the track?

  • Is there a yes coming in a different way?

  • Maybe you need to shift direction completely and this no is your sign?

I use my intuition to help me navigate which it is and you can too. ⁣

If you are faced with the feeling of rejection right now it can be helpful to zoom out and reflect.

Journal prompt:

- What was something you wanted in the past that you didn't get? (e.g. a job, a home to live in)

- What did you end up getting instead?

- How did you feel about what you got instead?

- If you weren't happy with the outcome, did you learn any lessons? Sometimes rejection or not getting what we want doesn't lead us to something better, but it does teach us something.

If you learn anything about rejection, it's to take time out of the equation. Rejection only exists when there is a timeline attached to it.

Sometimes zooming out can help, a relationship reset session might be just the thing to help you get perspective on your goals and get back on track.

I look forward to connecting with you.
